The Commission has several task forces working on specific issues.

International Competition Network

The Task Force on International Competition Network (ICN) was created in 2002 to optimise ICC’s participation in the ICN’s work. The task force aims at maintaining links with and developing business input into projects undertaken by ICN. The task force is co-chaired by James F. Rill, Senior Counsel, Baker Botts LLP and Calvin S. Goldman, Partner, Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP.

Compliance and Advocacy

The ICC Task Force on Compliance and Advocacy continues to promote the importance of compliance programmes as an enforcement tool in antitrust law. The task force will prepare practical toolkits on antitrust compliance for large companies and SMEs, collect best practices in the operation of antitrust programmes around the world, and deepen the discussion and thought leadership with all stakeholders on important topics related to Antitrust Compliance. The task force is chaired by Anne Riley, Associate General Counsel Antitrust, Shell, and co-chaired by Boris Kasten, Head of Competition Law, Schindler Management Ltd and Anny Tubbs, General Counsel, Competition, Unilever.

Due Process

The purpose of the Task Force on Due Process is to develop recommendations on international due process in antitrust proceedings worldwide. In 2010, the task force issued a paper on due process specified to the EU. The ICC Task Force on due process was created in 2009 and is co-chaired by Gerald Brei, Partner, Homburger AG and Jennifer Patterson, Partner, Kaye Scholer LLP.

Premerger Control Regimes

Created in 2011, the Task Force on Premerger Control Regimes aims to identify countries whose merger control practices are inconsistent with the Recommended Practices for Merger Notification Procedures of ICN and persuade them to change their merger control practices in order to align them with the ICN Recommended Practices. The task force is chaired by Jeffrey Zuckerman, Partner, Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP.

Private Enforcement in the EU

The objective of this task force is to develop comments and advocate ICC views on draft EU proposals for private enforcement of antitrust actions. Since its creation in 2006, the ICC Task Force on Private Enforced has produced many papers over the past years, its most recent one being on collective redress. The task force is chaired by François Brunet, Partner, Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton.
