Kersten is Executive Vice President and responsible for a variety of businesses in the power segment, like environmental technologies, oil and gas, nuclear as well as the sales process for the power segment. During his 24 years in industry, Kersten has held various positions formerly for Siemens across the company's portfolio and geographical reach, ranging from hydropower in Latin America to industrial energy efficiency in Europe and field service for power plants worldwide. He holds a Master's degree in engineering from the University of Dortmund.

Lakshmanan Rajasekar


Executive President, UltraTech Cement Ltd.

Mr. Rajasekar is a graduate in Engineering with more than 30 years of work experience of which more than 25 years have been with Cement Industry. Currently he is Executive President of Aditya Birla Cement Business (UltraTech Cement Ltd.) in their Head Office in Mumbai. His current work areas include safety, Energy, reduction in CO2 footprint, use of alternate fuels and increasing cementitious material absorption.
He is the co-chair of Technical Committee, Chair of Environmental Task Force and member of Energy Task Force of Industry body (Cement Manufacturer's Association). He is also Co-chair of the FICCI Environment Committee and a member of FICCI Climate Change committee.

Gilles Vermot-Desroches


Senior VP Sustainability, Schneider Electric

After first experiences as president of an NGO and within a Minister cabinet in France, Gilles Vermot Desroches joined Schneider Electric in 1998. His primary mission was to create and develop the Schneider Electric Foundation. Three years later, Gilles took over the new global Sustainable development department. This entity defines and deploys the environmental, ethical and social policies of the company, as well as developing the awareness of Schneider Electric employees and other stakeholders to sustainable development issues.
Gilles has participated in projects such as the ethical guidelines of the company (2001), the creation of the sustainability performance score card (Planet & Society – 2005) or the access to energy programme (BipBop – 2008).
Gilles Vermot Desroches is a member of the board of the French forum of the “Global compact friends”, as well as the ORSE, the OSI,and the management board of the French Energy Agency Ademe.
He holds a master of conference from Sciences Po Paris University.
