Second Internet Governance Forum

The Government of Brazil hosted the second IGF meeting. It took place in Rio de Janeiro on 12 - 15 November 2007. A draft programme outline and meeting schedule for the Rio de Janeiro Meeting were available for comment on the IGF website.

BASIS at the IGF

At the IGF, BASIS will:

  • Advocate, before the other stakeholders for the policies and practices of the Digital Economy Commission related to the Internet Governance.
  • Seek to enable partnerships between different stakeholders on Internet Governance issues.
  • Provide substantive information for all stakeholders on the business initiatives, policy positions, and practice tools on the IGF topics.
  • Allow its members to showcase their Internet governance related initiatives and substantive contributions.
  • It also will facilitate information and experience exchange with the different stakeholders.
