Featuring speakers from
Bombardier, GE, Siemens, Shell and DuPont alongside leading international dispute resolution
lawyers, ICC’s 2nd International Mediation Conference, set to
take place in February 2011, will combine theory and practice to deliver
results by means of an interactive user-to-user approach.
Titled
“Win-Win
Strategies: Tools for corporate dispute management” the
business-oriented conference will focus on the implementation of in-house dispute
management systems for business to business conflicts and will bring ICC’s
Mediation Week 2011 to a close.
The conference will take place at ICC headquarters in Paris on 10 February 2011.
From
revealing the business value of an in-house dispute management system to
providing guidance on what to consider when drafting contracts, the conference provides
users with a tailored approach and underlines ICC’s commitment to host first-class
events in the field of international commercial dispute resolution. The
conference will also highlight the merits of mediation – one of the dispute resolution services
offered by ICC under its ICC ADR
Rules – as an efficient procedure for the resolution of business
conflicts.
The do’s and don’ts when drafting dispute resolution
clauses for international contracts will be contemplated in small working
groups. Panellists will present a case study to introduce participants to tools
for early case assessment and the event will culminate with an outlook on the
future of dispute resolution.
In-house counsel, members of corporate management,
dispute resolution practitioners and attorneys in law firms are advised to book
early following the success of the inaugural International Mediation
Conference, which took place at the beginning of 2010 and sold out early on.
The ICC Mediation Week will feature from the 4–9 February 2011 the 6th
ICC International Mediation Competition, ICC’s biggest educational event
of the year. The internationally-renowned moot is the only international
mediation moot worldwide. The 2011 Competition will see 58 law and business
school teams from around the world test their problem-solving and advocacy
skills while competing against each other in mock mediation cases.
