The second advanced-level training in
international commercial arbitration
in Spanish and Portuguese will take place from 14 to 17 June at ICC
headquarters in Paris.
The seminar,
organized by ICC’s Institute
of World Business law,
will include a simulation of an arbitration proceeding involving a set of
complex circumstances as well as practical and technical presentations by
renowned international arbitrators.
“International
commercial arbitration is becoming
increasingly important in Latin America, and the success of the first Spanish
and Portuguese language training on the subject held in 2008 convinced us to
repeat the experience,” said Fernando Mantilla-Serrano, Partner at Shearman
& Sterling and Co-Chairman of the seminar with Luiz Olavo Baptista, Partner
at LO Baptista Advogados Associados.
The sessions
will be of particular interest to lawyers, judges, in-house counsel, arbitrators,
and academics. Participants will discuss the current state of international
commercial arbitration in Latin America.
The training
will include:
- Simulation
of an arbitration proceeding involving a set of complex circumstances
- Practical
and technical presentations by renowned international arbitrators
-
Participation by members of the Secretariat of the ICC International Court of
Arbitration
-
Interactive arbitration sessions
A special
early bird rate is available until 30 April.
