Saint Petersburg G20 Business Summit launch meeting
The ICC G20 CEO Advisory Group participated in the B20 Russia launch event on 12 December 2012 in Moscow. Hosted by Alexander Shokhin, President, Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP), the event allowed business leaders to begin the process of outlining their collective views on key issues for input to the G20 agenda.
Mr Shokhin was tapped for the role of host by Russian President Vladimir Putin. In this capacity Mr Shokhin chaired the launch event for over 50 Russian and international companies, the B20 Coalition of national business federations and key international business groups including the International Organization of Employers (IOE), the World Economic Forum (WEF) and the International Business Leaders Forum-Russia. Jean-Guy Carrier, Secretary General, International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) attended the event representing global business and members of the ICC G20 CEO Advisory Group.
Key speakers at the event included: Alexey Mordashov, CEO, Severstal; Kirill Dmitriev, General Director, Russian Direct Investment Fund; and Andrey Bougrov, Chairman of the Board, Norilsk Nickel.
"The G20's agenda impacts business priorities for growth and employment and warrants our engagement and the contribution of business recommendations. We aim to help Russia build on the progress achieved in Seoul, Cannes and Los Cabos."
