Featuring an opening address from Mexican President Felipe Calderon, the 7th World Chambers Congress is the first to be held in Latin America. It is organized by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) World Chambers Federation (WCF) with the Mexico City National Chamber of Commerce (CANACO).
A host of internationally-renowned experts and business leaders will bring delegates up-to-date on latest business issues. Prominent new speakers are Martha Delgado Peralta, Head of the Mexico City Ministry of Environment and Secretary of the Environment for Mexico City, and environmental researcher Rajendra Pachauri, Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and Director General of The Energy and Resources Institute. They will debate the Green Economy in a plenary session.
Many participants will use the biennial Congress to make business connections. “The World Chambers Congress is a unique occasion for chambers of commerce and their member companies from more than 100 countries to meet and develop partnerships,” said Rona Yircali, Chair, WCF. “Once signed up, delegates can network with a worldwide community of more than 12,000 chambers of commerce.”
In a recent addition to the programme, Ekaterina Walter, Social Media Strategist for Intel, speaker in the “Social Network” workshop session, has offered to meet delegates individually to help define their social media strategies at the ICC Booth.

WCF encourages chamber leaders from around the world to exchange ideas and best practices at the event, helping each other to improve practical business services for their members. A sponsor delegate package is available for sponsor organizations wanting to help delegates from developing countries to take part, in exchange for full branding opportunities.

Congress organizers would also like to extend thanks to two WCF Vice-Chairs, Mick Fleming, President and CEO of the American Chamber of Commerce Executives, and Mahendra Sanghi, Past President of the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India. Both have graciously donated cash prizes for winning projects of the 2011 World Chambers Competition, to be announced at the Competition Award Ceremony on Friday 10 June.
