Held for the first time in the Middle East, the Congress has reinforced its position as the unique international forum for chambers and their business leaders to develop and strengthen their partnerships, exchange insights and share best practices.

Chamber leaders from more than 120 countries will begin the festivities with a welcome dinner on the evening of 22 April and over the following three days tackle topical issues in a series of plenary and workshop sessions that embody the event’s overarching theme of “Opportunities for all”. Panellists will face questions such as:

• How can governments and business work together to ensure a well-educated and available workforce?
• How can private sector organizations be instrumental in advancing women’s economic opportunities?
• What methods exist to foster entrepreneurship and strengthen small businesses?
• How do we operate in a world in crisis?

Eighteen practical workshop sessions will showcase chamber innovation and services, with additional sessions designed to provide practical peer-to-peer expertise on how to improve their operations, as well as the types of new services they can provide. The final of the World Chambers Competition will also take place during the Congress.

Chambers are invited to take part in the ICC World Trade Agenda Summit on 22 April, and also being held at the Qatar National Convention Center. The Summit will provide a unique opportunity for business leaders and key policymakers to dialogue with participants on defining business priorities for effective 21st century trade and investment policy.

For chambers and business executives wanting to build new business relationships and learn about business opportunities in the Middle East and Africa, the Qatar Chamber has set up a business programme, to be held within the Congress. Qatar Chamber will also put in place a business matchmaking system to allow delegates access to an exclusive B2B network booth.

Registration for the 8th World Chambers Congress and the ICC World Trade Agenda Summit is now open. The Congress is currently providing special rates for least developed countries and African continent delegates.
