Learn how to negotiate and draft a contract of quality
The ICC Institute of World Business Law will hold its annual four-day training programme on international contracts on 3-6 June in Paris. The programme is entitled “International Contracts: Negotiating and drafting key clauses, dispute resolution, different cultural and legal approaches.”
“This programme offers a great opportunity to learn how to best manage the issues that arise in international contracts today, through discussions with experienced international practitioners in an international setting,” said Kristine Karsten, Partner, Vista Law, France and Council Member of the ICC Institute of World Business Law. “This year’s training is particularly exciting because it has been remodelled to include a new session on “boilerplate” in international contracts, another on drafting specific clauses, and a half-day dedicated to practising international contracts in China, Russia, Brazil and USA.”
The learning outcomes of the four-day training include acquiring the skills to negotiate and draft a contract, strategies for successful negotiation, effective use of ICC model clauses and the best techniques to both avoid and resolve contract disputes.
“The programme will also focus on its traditional outcomes -- the importance of understanding cultural and legal differences in an international context and the practical application of conflict resolution and contract negotiation and drafting through a mock case,” Ms Karsten added.
To ensure interactive discussion and small working groups for the mock case, the training is limited to approximately 50 participants.
The conference will also address topical issues such as the Incoterms® 2010 rules.
Social activities will be offered throughout the training to enhance ties among participants, generally representative of over 25 countries.
ICC will also be offering for the first time a follow-up session, “Advanced Training on International Contracts” on 7-10 October 2013 for those who want to explore the subject further.
Sessions are to be held in English and French, with simultaneous translation.
Legal directors, corporate counsel, lawyers and other legal professionals, as well as business people involved in international trade and dispute resolution are invited to attend. All participants earn 25 CLE credits and 21 CPD hours.
Register by 26 April and benefit from the Early Bird special rate and save over 300€.
