Featuring presentations and discussions led by members of the Incoterms® 2010 rules drafting group, the event will take place at ICC headquarters in Paris on 25 April 2013.

Since first being published in 1936, the Incoterms® rules have been accepted by governments, intergovernmental agencies including the United Nations, legal authorities and practitioners worldwide for the interpretation of most commonly used terms in international trade.

Six renowned experts on the use of today’s Incoterms® 2010 rules will present and discuss the application and evolution of the most comprehensive set of Incoterms® rules to date, including:

  • changes between Incoterms® 2010 and Incoterms® 2000
  • how to avoid common mistakes when using the Incoterms® 2010 rules
  • the evolution of the Incoterms® rules in US trade
  • the Incoterms® rules and the interaction between carriage and sale contracts
  • how to choose the right Incoterms® rule for your contract of sale

“As the international body that drafts and maintains Incoterms® rules, there is no better place to learn about them than at ICC,” said Emily O’Connor, Senior Policy Manager of the ICC Commission on Commercial Law and Practice. “The exciting ‘Meet the Experts’ launch event offers a rare opportunity for real exchange between users of the Incoterms® rules and international Incoterms® rules experts, including those who helped draft the most recent version.”
