ICC Advanced PIDA Training on International Commercial Arbitration to be held in late September
The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Institute of World Business Law will be offering a four-day advanced PIDA training on international commercial arbitration in Paris from 29 September to 2 October 2014.
Drawing on the experience of renowned arbitrators in a multicultural and international environment, this advanced-level training provides an in-depth understanding of the ICC Arbitration procedure under the 2012 ICC Rules of Arbitration.
The event will gather 40 practising lawyers, legal directors, corporate counsel from companies involved in international commercial arbitration, and other legal professionals. Participants will work in small groups to practice applying the new provisions in a series of mock cases. Paul-A. Gelinas, Chairman of the Seminar, Independent Arbitrator and Member of the Paris and Montreal Bars said: “The advanced PIDA training is a unique opportunity to learn from some of the world’s leading experts in arbitration, and provides a first-hand experience of the ICC Rules of Arbitration.”
A practical case-study approach and role-plays will be used to address a series of situations that arise during complex arbitral proceedings. Trainees will therefore gain the expertise and competence to prepare for an arbitral proceeding under the new ICC rules, from drafting the request and the answer to simulating an arbitral hearing. Participants will also be invited to debate with speakers during interactive plenary sessions.
Interested candidates can now sign up and take advantage of the special early-bird rate until 11 July 2014.
