US-German Conference examines ADR alternatives to litigation and arbitration for transatlantic commercial disputes
A down to earth view of ADR in transatlantic deals and disputes was examined at a conference panel chaired by Prof Dr Renate Dendorfer of HEUSSEN law firm in Munich, Germany.
The panel took place on the second day of the joint conference of the ABA Section of International Law and the International Section of the German Bar Association (DAV), entitled "Successfully Navigating Hazardous Waters: the Third Conference on Transatlantic Deals and Disputes", held in Frankfurt from 2-3 June 2013.
Complementing the in-house counsel perspective of Dr. Alexander Steinbrecher at Bombardier Transportation and the external counsel experience of Mr Adi Seffer (HEUKING KUHN LUER WOJTEK law firm in Frankfurt, Germany), Ms Calliope M Sudborough, Deputy Manager of the ICC International Centre for ADR gave institutional experience and feedback on drafting dispute resolution clauses and reducing the time and costs of international commercial dispute resolution.
Over 100 lawyers from law firms and in-house counsel from Europe, US, Latin America and Southeast Asia attended the conference.
