The ICC Task Force on Public Procurement is organising a Seminar on Procurement and Trade on 7 November 2012 to be held in Paris, at the ICC International Headquarters, 38 Cours Albert 1er, 75008.
ICC Seminar on Procurement and Trade
The International Chamber of Commerce
(ICC) recently released a response (http://www.iccwbo.org/advocacy-codes-and-rules/document-centre/2012/icc-response-to-the-european-commission-proposed-regulation-on-public-procurement/)
to the European Commission’s proposed regulation on third country access to
internal procurement markets (http://trade.ec.europa.eu/doclib/docs/2012/march/tradoc_149243.pdf).
The ICC Task Force on Public Procurement wishes to raise issues pertaining to
the reality and complexities of procurement markets, which it feels the EC and
many international organizations should investigate further.
Beyond the EC proposal, our members believe that the
future of procurement is an important topic, as well as a growing point of
debate amongst experts and across nations. This seminar will handle problems
such as impact of European decisions on emerging markets, on the industrial
sector and the superimposition of normative frameworks established by
international organizations. This event should be an opportunity to explain and
discuss our opinions and garner views from the business community.
