Objective

Drawing on the experience of renowned arbitrators in a multicultural and international environment, this advanced-level training provides an in-depth understanding and first-hand experience of the ICC Arbitration procedure under the 2012 ICC Rules of Arbitration.

By using a practical case-study approach and role-plays to address a series of situations that arise during complex arbitral proceedings, you will gain the expertise and competence to prepare for an arbitral proceeding under the 2012 ICC Rules: from drafting the request and the answer, to preparing the witnesses, to simulating an arbitral hearing, etc.

Who is it for

This programme will benefit practising lawyers, corporate counsel, arbitrators, magistrates, academics, dispute resolution experts and users who have a strong experience of international commercial arbitration, in particular of the ICC procedure, and who wish to deepen their practical knowledge and share their views with international practitioners.

Working methods

  • Study of an advanced and complex mock case under the 2012 ICC Rules of Arbitration in small working groups of roughly 10 participants. The mock case will be sent to participants before the training so that they can read the facts and identify the contractual issues which cover the events mentioned in the facts.
  • Technical and practical presentations by international ICC Arbitration experts.
  • Debate among participants and speakers during interactive plenary sessions.

Credits and hours

ICC Training and Conferences is eligible for CLE credit under New York's approved jurisdiction procedures, is a State Bar of California approved MCLE provider and is a Solicitors Regulation Authority and General Council of the Bar of England and Wales External CPD Course Provider. French bars: This training has been sent for CNB approval. Lawyers practising in France may apply for the reimbursement of this course before the FIFPL (Fonds Interprofessionnel de Formation des Professionnels Libéraux), subject to terms and conditions.

Cancellation policy

50% of the registration fee will be refunded if notice of cancellation is received in writing before 30 August 2013. Cancellations after this date are not refundable. Subject to agreement from ICC Training and Conferences prior to the event, the registration may be transferred to another person from the same company or organization at no extra charge. Updated registration information will be required.

Please note that ICC Services reserves the right to cancel this event or to make minor alterations to the content and timing of the programme or to the identity of the speakers.
