Sustainable Transport

The ICC Commission on Transport and Logistics feels strongly that the issue of sustainable transport is central to all debates regarding the future of the transport industry.

The commission regularly shares its expertise with the ICC Commission on Environment and Energy to give input into ICC policy recommendations on green growth.

In addition, the ICC Commission on Transport and Logistics has developed policy statements recognizing the transport industry’s responsibilities and affirming that the industry is prepared to take the lead in advocating for a cleaner environment.

Specifically, the commission has taken a position on vessel air emissions and strongly recommends that an agreement on shipping must be reached at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to avoid carbon leakage and other undesirable environmental degradation.

In terms of air transport, the commission is a forum for discussion on issues such as noise pollution and night flying.
