Learning in a multistakeholder environment: EuroSSIG teaches the Internet governance leaders of tomorrow
The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) gathered business experts from companies and organizations leading ICC policy work on information and communication technologies (ICTs) for the 17-18 March biannual meeting of the ICC Commission on the Digital Economy.
The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) expressed perspectives from business regarding UNESCO’s latest draft Internet study at the CONNECTing the Dots conference in Paris on 3-4 March.
Gathering 34 business experts representing companies and organizations leading ICC’s policy work on information and communication technologies (ICTs), the biannual meeting of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Commission on the Digital Economy identified next steps on priority topics for business including Internet governance, privacy and cybersecurity, trade facilitation, and linking these specific priorities to overall strategic ICC messages. The event took place at ICC global headquarters in Paris on 30 September - 1 October 2014.
At the ninth Internet Governance Forum (IGF) in Istanbul, the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and Business Action to Support the Information Society (BASIS) have welcomed the reaffirmation of the IGF’s relevance and continued importance as well as the opportunity to work collaboratively with other stakeholders to further improve it. Pointing to the need to enrich the debate on policy creation, the world business organization has highlighted how a common approach across stakeholders will help achieve the full economic and social potential of the global Internet.
