ICC 90th anniversary celebrations were started with the launch of ICC Research Foundation in Geneva on 2 February 2009. The celebrations concluded in New Delhi with ICC Regional CEO Forum scheduled for 4-5 December 2009.
ICC India hosted the ICC Regional CEO Forum on 4 - 5 December 2009. Participants included over 150 corporate chairmen, CEOs and COOs from Asia, the Middle East, Pacific, Europe and North America - in addition to business leaders from India.
The overall theme of the Forum was "Globalization and Inclusive Growth". Against the background of the worst global economic recession in living memory, thought leaders from business, government and academia will introduce interactive discussions on the prospects for recovery, the lessons that have been learned from the crisis, and the resulting policy changes affecting business that governments are preparing.
The Forum was also be the occasion for the unveiling of the results of the first year of activity of the new ICC Research Foundation. Project leaders from the World Trade Organization, Harvard Business School, and the Swiss-based IMD global business school introduced and lead discussions on the topics researched in 2009: trade and employment, reforming capitalism, and rethinking sustainable growth.
