Business leaders from Business Action to Stop Counterfeiting and Piracy, an initiative of ICC, today welcomed news that the European Council has established a European Observatory on Counterfeiting.

Washington, D.C., 22 September 2008  The International Trademark Association and representatives from ICC's Business Action to Stop Counterfeiting and Piracy initiative participated in a public meeting organized by the Office of the US Trade Representative today.

ICC targets ministers to advance IP protection at G8 summit
Paris, 6 June 2008  ICC has called upon G8 justice ministers and G8 foreign ministers to advocate measures for better intellectual property protection during the G8 Summit in Hokkaido Toyako, Japan next month.

Proposed multilateral agreement to combat counterfeiting moving forward
Brussels, 16 April 2008  ICC's Business Action to Stop Counterfeiting and Piracy (BASCAP) and the International Trademark Association (INTA) today welcomed news that the Council of Ministers had confirmed the proposed mandate authorizing the European Commission to open negotiations on the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) between the EU and key economic partners, including the United States, Japan, South Korea, Mexico and New Zealand.

Fourth global congress on combating counterfeiting and piracy opens in Dubai
Dubai, 3 February 2008  More than 500 senior decision-makers from 70 countries convened today in Dubai to identify solutions to the escalating global problem of product counterfeiting and piracy of intellectual property and to put an end to the damaging effects it is having on consumer health and safety, government resources and revenues, innovation and foreign investment.

Paris, 6 December 2007  Planning is underway for the Fourth Global Congress on Combating Counterfeiting and Piracy. With the cooperation and support of ICC through its Business Action to Stop Counterfeiting and Piracy initiative, the gathering will take place in Dubai, UAE from 3-5 February 2008.
