ICC and WCO sign agreement to strengthen working partnership

The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the World Customs Organisation (WCO) today signed a revised Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that sets out working activities between the two parties.

Guangzhou, China, 27 October 2009  ICC’s BASCAP group today launched a set of intellectual property (IP) guidelines designed to help businesses manage copyright and branded materials and deter trade in counterfeit and pirate goods.

Dubai, 4 February 2008  Business leaders representing ICC's Business Action to Stop Counterfeiting and Piracy (BASCAP) initiative called on governments and business to take concrete action to stop the global trade in fake products today at a global congress on counterfeiting.

Fourth global congress on combating counterfeiting and piracy opens in Dubai
Dubai, 3 February 2008  More than 500 senior decision-makers from 70 countries convened today in Dubai to identify solutions to the escalating global problem of product counterfeiting and piracy of intellectual property and to put an end to the damaging effects it is having on consumer health and safety, government resources and revenues, innovation and foreign investment.

ICC asks G8 task force for concrete plan to fight counterfeiting
Paris, 13 June 2007  ICC today commended G8 leaders for continuing to address the complicated and growing epidemic of counterfeiting and piracy at the annual G8 Summit, but expressed disappointment at the lack of substance on these issues in the outcome statement released at the G8 Summit in Heiligendamm last week.

OECD study a vital step to understanding the global scope of counterfeiting
Paris, 4 June 2007  The summary of the counterfeiting and piracy study released today by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) represents the most comprehensive and thorough investigation of the problem ever conducted, and a vital step towards a more complete understanding of the scope and harmful effects of this illegal activity, the International Chamber of Commerce said.

Paris, 25 May 2007  The leaders of the G8 must take bigger, bolder steps to beat back counterfeiting and piracy, the International Chamber of Commerce said today in a letter sent to G8 leaders in advance of their Summit Meeting in Heiligendamm, Germany.

Global congress identifies priorities for combating counterfeiting and piracy
Paris, 3 May 2007  In response to the epidemic of counterfeiting and piracy, top government officials, business leaders and international law enforcement officials met in Geneva at the Third Global Congress on Combating Counterfeiting and Piracy, to call for action.
