The study, Intellectual Property: Powerhouse for Innovation and Economic Growth, which is a collaborative effort on the part of BASCAP and the ICC Commission on Intellectual Propertyexplores the benefits of IP protection in strengthening national economies, driving innovation and technology, fostering new ideas, and enhancing society and culture.
BASCAP's IP Guidelines for Business provide information to businesses on practical steps they can take to protect their own creativity and innovation in IP-based products and services, as well as to protect against the risk of using counterfeit materials or infringing other companies’ IP rights. The Guidelines are available in six languages worldwide.
"Intellectual Property: Source of innovation, creativity, growth and progress" provides arguments for the protection of IPR from economic, social and legal standpoints while providing recommendations for actions that can be taken to protect IPRs and ensure that innovation continues to drive human progress and enhance standards of living.
BASCAP is working closely with several national anti-counterfeiting groups to push for higher benchmarks for intellectual property enforcement regimes by creating country-level action plans and coalitions and leveraging local business voices to push for tangible and measureable results.
The jointly published ICC-WIPO handbook, Making intellectual property work for businessprovides practical guidance to chambers of commerce and business associations looking to provide intellectual property (IP) services for businesses.  It is part of a suite of tools that ICC is developing to support the provision of business-oriented IP services to help companies boost their competitiveness.
