AIM

 

AIM's Mission:

The activities of AIM, the European Brands Association, cover all issues impacting theability of manufacturers to design, to market, to distribute and to sell their brands.Through its membership of national associations in 21 countries and close to 50 corporatemembers, AIM represents some 1800 companies, the vast majority of which are active in thefast moving consumer goods sector.For over 20 years AIM has coordinated the Anti-Counterfeiting Committee, bringing togetherAIM members with other associations, organisations and companies who are also affected by
the menace of counterfeiting and piracy.

Mission:

To act as a strong, coherent voice for European industry in the fight against the
manufacture, distribution and sale of counterfeit and pirated items

To engage in world-wide co-operation with all public and private sector stakeholders,
including law enforcement agencies and public policy makers

Operation & Methodology:

The AIM Anti-Counterfeiting Committee has been established for over 20 years and
brings together AIM members with over 20 other industry associations/organisations and
companies with the shared goal of combating counterfeiting and piracy

Chairmen always recognised industry experts. Current Chairman: Graeme Woodcock,
Pernod-Ricard; Vice-Chairman: Shelley Duggan, Procter & Gamble

 

2 meetings per year; constant e-mail contact

 

Achieve adoption and implementation of Directive on Intellectual Property Rights
Enforcement at national level

 

Support Customs Regime and continue to provide industry interface with European
Customs authorities

 

Achieve adoption and implementation of EC law for criminal sanctions to deal with
counterfeiters

 

Participation in all European anti-counterfeiting policies and actions

 

Act as conduit for information-sharing between all stakeholders and other interested
parties

 

Centralised identification of key issues affecting industry leading to holistic,
targeted lobbying of authorities

 

Sharing best practice on combating counterfeiting
