Music piracy levels in Greece are well over 50% for both international and local recordings. The piracy rate for U.S. music is estimated to make up 60% of the market. (1adobe pdf file

Over 98% of total pirated music discs are burned CD-Rs. Instances of industrial pressed pirate CDs are rare, and those usually contain international repertoire. (ibid)

In 2005, the number of the people involved in music piracy increased significantly, yet the average quantity seized by the law enforcement authorities dropped slightly. This is due in large part to lax immigration laws, as 90% of criminal syndicates are estimated to be Nigerians. (ibid)
