General:
bullet  According to the National Police Agency, the nationwide seizure of fake goods surpassed 200,000 items last year; three times that of five years ago. About 70 percent of the items came from China, South Korea or Taiwan. (1)

bullet  Japan’s film industry is estimated to have lost more than 80 billion yen in fiscal 2005 due to piracy. (2)
