General:

Nigeria has the highest rate of piracy in sub-Sahara Africa, it loses up to N100 billion to copyright piracy annually. (1)

Film & TV:
bullet  Approximately 90% of the movies available in Nigeria are pirated DVD’s. (2)
Music:
bullet  80% of all international CD’s available in Nigeria are pirated; 40% of local music created in Nigeria is pirated. (3)
Pharmaceuticals:
bullet The Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria said that at least 70% of the drugs in circulation in Nigeria are fake and that most imported fake and substandard drugs in Nigeria come from India, China, Pakistan, Egypt, and Indonesia. (4)
