Cutting the software piracy rate in South Africa by 10 percentage points over a four year period could generate 2,400 new jobs, $1.7 billion in economic growth and $131 billion in tax revenues.  The local IT sector would increase 42% to 49% by 2009 to create a $10 billion industry. (1)
