Eligibility criteria

The Oslo Business for Peace Awards highlight ethical and responsible business practices and the commitment of business leaders as individuals who create long-term success based on such practices.

Criteria of the Business for Peace Awards

The Award Giving Committee evaluates the nominees according to three criteria for "being businessworthy", as worded by the Business for Peace Foundation below.

Being businessworthy is to apply one's business energy ethically and responsibly with the purpose of creating values for the business as well as for society.

Setting an example

To be considered a candidate for the Award, a nominee must be an example to society and to their peers. The nominee inspires the general public and the business community by showing how to achieve success through ethical and responsible business practices.

Advocating ethical and responsible business

Business people nominated are outspoken advocates of ethical and responsible business principles, and of social responsibility in corporate governance.

Earning the trust of communities

The business people nominated for the Awards have developed and cultivated successful international or national businesses in a manner that is recognized and appreciated by the communities within which their businesses are being exercised.
