ICC Arbitration Day in Brazil

Josefa Sicard-Mirabal, a practising US attorney of Dominican origin, has been appointed as the Court’s new Director for Arbitration and ADR in North America.

ICC awards on banking and finance
July 2006
The latest issue of the ICC International Court of Arbitration Bulletin contains extracts from 14 ICC awards relating to banking and financial transactions, some of which refer to ICC documentary instruments such as UCP. The issue also carries the 2005 Statistical Report of the Court and articles on arbitration practice.

Dates set for 2nd ICC mediation competition
June 2006
The second ICC International Commercial Mediation Competition will take place in Paris on 16–19 February 2007. Inaugurated in 2006, this competition is open to law schools in all parts of the world and is designed to test students’ problem-solving skills in a mock international mediation and thereby help prepare tomorrow’s lawyers for the varied needs of their future careers.
