ICC International Court of Arbitration Bulletin
Volume 13/ No. 1
Arbitration practitioners will find a feast of useful insights into ICC arbitration in the latest issue of the ICC International Court of Arbitration Bulletin (Volume 13/No.1 (Spring 2002).
The 2001 Statistical Report gives detailed information on various aspects of ICC arbitration, including numbers of parties per country, geographical origins and designation of arbitrators, places of arbitration, applicable rules of law, awards and much more. It also includes information on ICC's other dispute resolution services: ADR, expertise and DOCDEX.
An article by Brooks W. Daly, former Counsel at the Secretariat of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, analyses the ICC procedure for correction and interpretation of awards. His article is accompanied by first-hand material illustrating how ICC arbitrators have responded to applications for the correction and interpretation of awards.
Practitioners contemplating fast-track proceedings under the ICC Rules of Arbitration will find many useful reflections in Antonias Dimolitsa's paper on expedited ICC arbitration procedure produced under the auspices of the ICC Commission on Arbitration, which is also published in Volume 13/No. 1 of the Bulletin.
The disputes submitted to ICC arbitration arise from many different kinds of contracts. Of these, state contracts are a special category involving both economic and political considerations. Volume 13/No. 1 of the Bulletin also contains an article by Eduardo Silva-Romero, Deputy Secretary General at the ICC International Court of Arbitration, showing ICC's success in handling state contract arbitrations.
