ICC arbitration confirms its multilingualism 

Although its official working languages are English and French, the ICC International Court of Arbitration makes many essential documents available in other languages too. The ICC Rules of Arbitration are now available on this web site in two new languages: Persian (Farsi) and Turkish.

The Persian translation is the work of ICC Court member Dr Mohsen Mohebi, who is a practising lawyer and official legal translator in his native Iran. Dr Mohebi’s translation of the ICC Rules of Arbitration was first published in 2001 in Iran by the ICC Iranian national committee. The text now available online is an updated version of this original publication.

The Turkish translation of the ICC Rules of Arbitration is made available by courtesy of ICC Turkey. The original translation was done by Messrs Orhan Azizoglu and Cahit Yildiz and Professor Mahmut Birsel and published by the ICC national committee in Turkey in 1997. For the convenience of parties who draft their contracts in languages other than English and French, the ICC International Court of Arbitration proposes the standard ICC arbitration clause in an increasing number of languages. Thanks to the cooperation of the members of the ICC International Court of Arbitration and ICC national committees, the clause is now available in 35 different languages. These translations are published in the latest issue of the ICC International Court of Arbitration Bulletin (Vol. 13/No. 2, Fall 2002).
