New appointments to ICC Court

At its 189th session held in Durban on 23 June 2005, the ICC World Council appointed two new members to the ICC International Court of Arbitration. With 126 members from 86 countries all over the world, the ICC Court stands out as a truly universal arbitration institution.

Dr Hellwig Torggler has been appointed member for Austria and Ms Géraldine Gazo member for Monaco. Both are practising attorneys.

Appointments to the ICC International Court of Arbitration are made by the ICC World Council pursuant to Article 3 of the Court’s Statutes (Appendix I to the ICC Rules of Arbitration). The World Council, ICC’s supreme governing body, normally meets twice a year and includes delegates from ICC national committees and groups throughout the world.
