Heitmann named new chair of ICC EBITT commission
Paris, 17 December 2007

Mr Heitmann is currently Senior Vice President of Global Communications for the office of the CEO at German software maker SAP AG

Herbert Heitmann has assumed the role of Chair of the ICC Commission on E-business, IT and Telecoms (EBITT).

Mr Heitmann is currently Senior Vice President of Global Communications for the office of the CEO at German software maker SAP AG, where he is responsible for the company’s policy and regulatory affairs. He is in charge of communications for all of SAP’s stakeholders, including investors, customers, partners, employers and the general public.

Mr Heitmann succeeds Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, Chairman and CEO of TAGI, Egypt who has lead the commission from its creation and played a large part in founding the ICC Business Action to Support the Information Society initiative.

“Mr Heitmann’s rich experience with stakeholder consultation and communications will be invaluable to the EBITT commission, where greater consensus and public buy-in are increasingly needed on policies affecting these technologies, such as the Internet,” said Guy Sebban, ICC Secretary General.

The EBITT commission establishes business positions, policies and practices on e-business, IT and telecoms, and runs task forces on critical issues, from Internet infrastructure to data protection, security and authentication.
