Michael Hancock

Partner at Salans -Paris, Istanbul

Michael Hancock

Mr Hancock is a partner at Salans in the Istanbul and Paris offices. He concentrates on disputes and transactions especially in the technology sector. Mr Hancockhas advised on a number of worldwide and European wide outsourcing projects, on international infrastructure projects, on arbitrations and litigation regarding the international piracy of pay television encryption systems and international insolvencies in the telecommunications sector. His recent experience includes: privatizations in Turkey concerning steel and telecommunications companies as well as ICC and ICSID arbitrations in the telecommunications sector. Presently, Mr Hancock is an ICC appointed mediator regarding a civil engineering procurement contract in Serbia.

Vitae

Mr Hancock has a BA from the University of California (Berkely) and a JD from the University of California (Hastings College of Law) as well as an MBA from the Institut Europen des Affaires Adminstratives (INSEAD).

Mr Hancock has been the General Counsel of Alcatel CIT, the French telecommunications subsidiary of the Alcatel Alsthom group.
