Best-selling Incoterms now available in e-format

Available from www.iccbooks.com

Paris, 1 June 2005 – The best-selling publication Incoterms 2000 has become the latest addition to ICC's popular eBook service.

Due to an ever-increasing demand for ICC's world-renowned trade terms, the electronic version of Incoterms 2000 can now be delivered directly to customer inboxes within 48 hours. Once downloaded, it can be conveniently stored on computers for instant access.
Incoterms short for International Commercial Terms go a long way to providing the legal certainty upon which mutual confidence between business partners must be based. Among the best known Incoterms are EXW (Ex works), FOB (Free on Board), CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freight), DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid), and CPT (Carriage Paid To).

Since the first version of Incoterms was introduced by ICC in 1936, ICC expert lawyers and trade practitioners have updated it six times to keep pace with the development of international trade. In recent years, Incoterms have been revised at 10-year intervals (Incoterms 1980, 1990 and 2000).

Incoterms 2000 is the latest version of the rules for the interpretation of trade terms.
"Using Incoterms correctly can save time, money and needless litigation," said Charles Debattista, Chair of the ICC Task Force on Incoterms and Vice-Chair of the ICC Commission on Commercial Law and Practice. "To be sure of using them correctly, trade practitioners need to consult the official ICC texts and to beware of the many unofficial variations of Incoterms that abound on the Internet and elsewhere."

The serviceable, bilingual English-French, electronic format of Incoterms 2000 has been designed to be used either alone or in conjunction with the printed book. It is easy to navigate and includes a search function to enable users to find key information with maximum ease and minimum delay.

Since ICC launched the service in Spring 2004, eBooks have become increasingly popular. Fourteen eBook titles ranging from model contracts to rules and guides are now available online from the ICC Business Bookstore. All titles can be ordered using the bookstore's secure, online payment system.
