The ICC Institute of World Business Law is a think-tank that provides research, training and information to the legal profession concerned with the development of international business law. The ICC Institute's main objectives are to foster wider knowledge and the development of the law and practices of international business, through close cooperation and discussions between practitioners and scholars and through training and research.

In line with its philosophy of excellence, it proposes training, conferences and publications on different specific topics related to international business law.

Established in 1979 and based in Paris, the Institute was first chaired by Pierre Lalive, then Serge Lazareff and since 2011, byYves Derains, former Secretary General of the ICC International Court of Arbitration.

Since then he has continued his devotion to the development of international arbitration and led with success the works on the Revision of the ICC Arbitration Rules adopted in 1998. He is Founding Partner of Derains & Associés, Paris based.

The Institute's Council is made up of 40 eminent lawyers from all parts of the world.

Through its Associate Members, appointed by the Institute Council, and chosen for their competence and expertise, the ICC Institute of World Business Law constitutes a forum for all practitioners, who are interested in the practice, study and development of international business law.
