Director, ICC Arbitration and ADR, Asia
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the ICC Asia Director and to the Secretary General of the ICC Court, you will
• Develop and implement a business plan for the development of ICC Dispute Resolution Services in the Asia Pacific region.
• Work together with ICC National Committees to develop awareness, knowledge and the use of ICC arbitration and other ICC Dispute Resolution Services in the Asia Pacific Region.
• Organize and participate in conferences, seminars and workshops with a focus on ICC arbitration, amicable dispute resolution (ADR), dispute boards, expertise, documentary credit dispute resolution in key countries in the Asia Pacific Region.
• Speak or otherwise participate at key conferences, seminars and workshops organized by other bodies.
• Respond to all queries on ICC arbitration, ADR, expertise, dispute boards and documentary credit dispute resolution in liaison with the Secretariat of the ICC Court.
• Collect information on developments in the law and news relating to arbitration, ADR, dispute boards, expertise, documentary credit dispute resolution in the Asia Pacific region and report to ICC headquarters on a regular basis, with advice on action to be taken, where appropriate.
Requirements:
• Degree in law with at least 4 years of post-qualification experience; preferably with knowledge of international arbitration either as an in-house lawyer or in private practice.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with proficiency in written as well as spoken English. Fluency in an Asian language e.g. Mandarin, would be desirable.
• Have a team oriented approach.
• Be well organized, motivated and work autonomously.
• Able to travel on overseas assignments frequently although the position will be based in Singapore.
• Proficient in MS Office programmes.
