Nils Terje Furunes
Nils Terje Furunes is Group Corporate Economist of DnB NOR Bank, the largest financial group in Norway. Mr Furunes was born in 1947 in Levanger, Norway. He graduated as an economist from the University of Oslo in 1971 and started his professional career in Statistics Norway, working first with macroeconomic models and later as Head of the National Accounts Department. Mr Furunes joined the Norwegian Association of Savings Banks in 1982 as Chief Analyst, and from 1986 to 1990 he worked as managing director and CEO of the Norwegian Association of Finance Houses. He was Chief Economist at Union Bank of Norway from 1990 until the bank merged with Den norske Bank in 2004, after which he was appointed Group Corporate Economist in the new DnB NOR Group.
Mr Furunes received a master degree in public administration from Harvard University in 1979.
