Study shows most consumers buy counterfeit goods with little remorse
Cancun, Mexico, 2 December 2009  A new report released today reveals that 80% of consumers spanning the developed and developing world regularly purchase counterfeit and pirated products, showing little remorse or fear of the consequences, including potential health and safety risks to themselves or their families.

Global Congress to call for coordinated response to counterfeit threat
Cancun, Mexico, 1 December 2009  Senior decision makers from governments, law enforcement, customs agencies and the private sector represented by ICC are gathering in Cancun to identify solutions to the worldwide trade in illegal products that is posing an increasingly dangerous threat both to people’s health and the global economy.

ICC’s BASCAP launches Intellectual Property Guidelines in Latin America
Cancun, Mexico, 1 December 2009  ICC’s Business Action to Stop Counterfeiting and Piracy (BASCAP) group today launched a set of intellectual property (IP) guidelines designed to help businesses in Latin America protect their copyright and branded materials, and deter trade in counterfeit and pirated goods.

Experts urge facilitating access to genetic resources
Paris, 9 April 2009  Any international regime governing access and benefit sharing for genetic resources should facilitate cross-border exchange of resources and encourage both private and public investment in bio-trade, experts from the breeding and bio-trade sectors told a conference this week.
