ICC’s BASCAP launches Intellectual Property Guidelines for Business at EU Conference on IP
Strasbourg, France, 17 October 2008
The International Chamber of Commerce’s BASCAP group today launched a set of intellectual property guidelines designed to help businesses manage copyright and branded materials and deter trade in counterfeit and pirate goods.

BASCAP to launch Intellectual Property Guidelines for Business
Paris, 15 October 2008  Business Action to Stop Counterfeiting and Piracy (BASCAP) will launch its new Intellectual Property Guidelines for Business worldwide on 17 October. A special launch event will be held in Strasbourg at the EU Conference on Industrial Property Rights. A second launch will take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on 21 October.

Business welcomes new EU Observatory to fight counterfeiting and piracy
Paris, 29 September 2008  Business leaders from Business Action to Stop Counterfeiting and Piracy, an initiative of ICC, today welcomed news that the European Council has established a European Observatory on Counterfeiting.

Geneva, 25 September 2008  ICC and The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) held their first joint intellectual property (IP) workshop for chambers of commerce and other business support organizations on 15-16 September.

IP Roadmap now available in five languages
Paris, 3 July 2008  The audience for the ICC Roadmap on Intellectual Property (IP) just took a giant leap forward: starting this month, the electronic version is available in Chinese, Arabic, Spanish and Portuguese, in addition to English.

COP-9 talks make strides, business says
Bonn, 6 June 2008  ICC welcomed the outcome of the ninth meeting of the Parties on the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) as a great step forward in addressing key matters, such as access and benefits sharing (ABS) and agricultural biodiversity.

World business urges multiple solutions to increase agricultural productivity, while protecting biodiversity
Bonn, 21 May 2008  As the search intensifies for ways to tame soaring food prices, the International Chamber of Commerce is urging COP-9 negotiators to consider multiple solutions as the most effective way to spread sustainable agricultural practices needed to feed a growing world population.

ICC: Access and benefit sharing must embrace business diversity
Bonn, 20 May 2008  An international regime on access and benefit sharing (ABS) of genetic resources must consider the wide variety of ways business sectors use these resources, the International Chamber of Commerce said today, speaking at the 9th Conference of the Parties (COP-9) of the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) Convention for Biological Diversity (CBD).
