The IP tool-kit was initiated by ICC to help chambers of commerce and business organizations develop and improve their IP services for local businesses.

In its first phase, the tool-kit will contain support materials, a web-based resource bank and training programmes conducted jointly with World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

Support materials will include a model guide for businesses, which chambers can adapt to their local environment, and short "bullet" messages targeted at businesses on the importance of IP.

The resource bank will be in the tool-kit's website and provide a platform for chambers to share experiences, information and contacts. This includes information on existing IP activities carried out by chambers of commerce and ICC National Committees, IP contact points, links to other IP resources such as the World Intellectual Property Organization, ICC BASCAP and the IP Commission, training programmes and other relevant material such as the ICC IP Roadmap on Current and Emerging IP Issues for Business and Policy makers.

To help chambers translate these tools into concrete initiatives, ICC plans to organize - with the (WIPO) - IP training programmes for chambers.

The ICC IP tool-kit is an evolving project and additional information and tools will be added over time.
