ICC launches Young Arbitrators Forum at conference
Paris, 10 June 2008

The weekend course will offer six hours of academic training with the stars and rising stars of arbitration.

ICC is hosting a weekend conference in Barcelona 27 to 29 June for lawyers and in-house counsel under the age of 40.

The conference marks the launch of the Young Arbitrators Forum (YAF) by ICC to strengthen links with the young arbitration community. The conference will be held in collaboration with the YAF US chapter.

“The ICC Court is delighted to welcome young arbitration practitioners and corporate counsel to learn from some of the worlds’ most distinguished arbitrators and professionals. This is the first of what we hope will be an ongoing programme of events tailored to the new generation of arbitration professionals,” said Jason Fry, Secretary General of ICC International Court of Arbitration.

The event is a rare opportunity for young lawyers and in-house counsel working in international arbitration to receive training from world-renowned arbitrators, members of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, and the ICC Secretariat.

The weekend course will offer six hours of academic training with the stars and rising stars of arbitration. Plenary sessions, informal debates, and workshops held in parallel have all been designed for in-house counsel and lawyers.

To provide further networking opportunities between the arbitrators of today and tomorrow, a weekend of activities is planned: a city tour, from the eyes of a photojournalist; a bike tour to discover Gaudi’s sinuous works of art; and a visit to the Picasso museum.
