Arbitration intern in Paris
The internship is for a non-flexible period of 2 months starting always in odd months.
The coming available periods are:
- 2 September - 31 October 2013
- 4 November - 27 December 2013
The intern will be under the supervision of one of the
seven case management teams of the Secretariat of the ICC International Court
of Arbitration.
Tasks entrusted to intern include:
- reading, commenting on and drafting documents
related to current arbitration cases
- doing research for the preparation of work documents, conferences, presentations and publications
- translating legal documents
Required qualifications:
A student with a strong background in international commercial arbitration law and a first experience in arbitration preferred – speaking English fluently.
Arbitration intern in Hong Kong
The internship is for a period of 3 months.
The coming available period is:
- 1 November 2013 - 31 January 2014
The intern will be under the supervision of the arbitration team in the Asia office based in Hong Kong.
Tasks entrusted to intern include:
- reading, commenting on and drafting documents
related to current arbitration cases
- doing research for the preparation of conferences, presentations and publications
- translating
legal documents
Required qualifications:
A student with a strong background in international commercial arbitration law and a first experience in arbitration preferred – speaking English fluently, Asian language is an asset.
Two internships with the International Centre for ADR for the organisation of the 2014 International Commercial Mediation Competition
2 September 2013 – 14 March 2014
At ICC’s headquarters in Paris, France.
ICC is one of the leading international institutions for the resolution of commercial disputes. The Centre is the department of ICC administering all cases filed under the ICC Amicable Dispute Resolution (ADR), Expertise, Dispute Board and DOCDEX Rules. Additionally, the Centre is in charge of ICC’s activities and services in the field of ADR and mediation. The Centre is also the organiser of the annual International Commercial Mediation Competition (“Competition”) which gives students from all around the world the possibility to test their problem-solving skills. The Competition is the only international commercial mediation moot worldwide. In 2014, 66 university teams and 120 professional mediators will participate (overall about 500 participants).
Main tasks
The interns’ main tasks will be to assist with the organisation and management of the 2014 Competition which will take place in February 2014 in Paris. Tasks will include: handling online registrations, replying to information requests from participants, preparing the event schedule, formatting of documents, dealing with accounting issues, preparing meetings and trainings, processing general administrative duties, preparing and planning of all logistical aspects of the event and mailings to participants. The interns will not work with the Secretariat of the ICC International Court of Arbitration.
What we are looking for
- proven experience in organising large-scale events
- enthusiasm for and knowledge of mediation and other forms of ADR
- ability to work under high pressure
- very good management of priorities
- problem solving capacity
- very good communication (both verbal and written) skills
- customer service skills
- ability to work both independently and within a team environment
- demonstrated attention to details
- native English speaker or equivalent and very good French (any other language is a plus)
- advanced computer skills including MS Office Suite
- event management studies and demonstrated event management experience is a plus

Intern with the International Centre for ADR for management of cases
The internship is for a period of 2 months.The current opportunities are for the following slots:

The intern will be under the supervision of the ICC International Centre for ADR team in Paris, which is in charge of all cases filed under the ICC ADR, Expertise, Dispute Board and DOCDEX Rules.
Tasks entrusted to intern include:
- assisting the Centre in the daily case-management tasks
- doing research for the preparation of conferences, presentations and publications
- other projects based on the intern’s interests and background
Required qualifications:
A law student with knowledge of mediation and other forms of ADR preferred – speaking English fluently.
ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS
- The candidate (for Paris or Hong Kong) needs to still be registered as a student during the time of the internship. Recent graduates who are not currently enrolled in an educational program are therefore not eligible to intern at ICC
- The candidate (if national from outside the European Union or Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Andorra, Monaco, or Switzerland) should get an appropriate visa from a French consulate

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Internships in Paris and Hong Kong are unremunerated and interns are required to handle and pay for their own travel and accommodation arrangements for the duration of their stay. Unfortunately scholarship cannot be granted by the ICC.
Internship is full-time (however a few hours classes during the week are accepted). The average working week is 35 hours.
We strongly advise you to undertake the application process at least three to six months in advance in order to start the internship on time.
