The ICC Dispute Resolution Services offers internships with the Secretariat of the ICC International Court of Arbitration both in
Paris and in
Hong Kong, with the
ICC International Centre for ADR (in charge of mediation, expertise and other ADR procedures) and with the
marketing teamof ICC, based in Paris.
Arbitration intern in Paris
The internship is for a period of 2 months:
- January -
February
- March - April
- May - June
- July - August
- September -
October
- November-
December

- 2 May – 28 June 2013
- 2 July - 30 August 2013
- 2 September - 31 October 2013
- 4 November - 27 December 2013
The intern will be under the supervision of one of the
seven case management teams of the Secretariat of the ICC International Court
of Arbitration. The internship takes place in Paris.
Tasks entrusted to intern include:
- reading, commenting on and drafting documents
related to current arbitration cases
- researching specific laws (national, topical etc)
- helping with the preparation of international
conferences
- translating
legal documents
Interns
also have the opportunity to attend Court sessions and staff meetings.
Fluency
in English is a requirement; fluency in French and other languages is an asset.
Eligibility conditions
Pursuant
to the requirements under French law (French Act n° 2006-396 of 31 March 2006):
interns at the ICC must be currently registered students at university or
school. Recent graduates who are not currently enrolled in an educational
program are therefore not eligible to intern at ICC.
Documentation from the intern's university or school verifying his or her
current status as a student will be requested upon the applicant's acceptance
into the internship program.
The intern must also have appropriate insurance valid in France for any damage
caused to a third party on the working place (“Responsabilité civile”
insurance) as well as social insurance (illness, work accident etc).
Important information
Nationals
from outside the European Union or Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Andorra,
Monaco, or Switzerland are required to have an appropriate visa from a French
consulate. Interns are also required to handle their own travel and
accommodation arrangements for the duration of their stay.
Internships at ICC are unremunerated.
The internship is full-time and should last for a maximum two-month period. The
average working week is 35 hours.
The purpose of an internship is not to lead to future employment within ICC
but, as mentioned, to complement an intern’s studies. Therefore, interns should not expect to receive an offer of
permanent employment at the conclusion of the internship.

The intern will be under the supervision of one the
arbitration team in the Asia office based in Hong Kong.
Tasks entrusted to intern include:
- reading, commenting on and drafting documents
related to current arbitration cases
- researching specific laws (national, topical etc)
- helping with the preparation of international
conferences
- translating
legal documents
Preferably, the applicants should be a student of
international commercial arbitration law.
Fluency in English is a requirement; fluency in an
Asian language is an asset.

Intern with the International Centre for ADR
- 2 months internships for the year 2013, starting on 1 March 2013, 1 May 2013 and 1 July 2013
The intern will work with the team ICC International Centre for ADR, which is in charge of all cases filed under the ICC ADR, Expertise, Dispute Board and DOCDEX Rules.
Further, the Centre is also in charge of organising the ICC Mediation Competition and the ICC Mediation Conference.
Tasks entrusted to the intern include:
- assisting the Centre in the daily case-management tasks
- research tasks for the preparation of conferences, presentations and publications
- helping with the preparation of the ICC Mediation Competition and ICC Mediation Conference
- other projects based on the intern’s interests and background
The candidate must have an interest or a background in alternative dispute resolution, preferably mediation.
Fluency in English is essential, additional fluency in French an asset. Proficiency in any other language is an advantage.
Interns also have the opportunity to attend sessions of the Court of Arbitration and the weekly staff meetings of the arbitration and ADR teams.

Promotion & Marketing intern

The duration of the internship may vary from 2 to 6 months.
The intern will be under the supervision of our Promotion & Marketing Coordinator.
The internship consists mainly of assisting with marketing and promoting ICC arbitration and dispute resolution worldwide:
- through helping organize conferences, meetings, colloquia, breakfast meetings etc, by setting up programs, drafting or redrafting mock cases and coordinating logistics
- helping organize university visits to ICC
- regular calendar updating of all ICC Court's activities worldwide
The internship includes some administrative tasks in addition to the substantive experience which may be compensated with the opportunity to attend some of the events that take place locally (i.e. in Paris).
A law student with interest in marketing/communications and/or experience in organizing events is preferred – the intern will work in English and French and should ideally master both languages.
