  • How long should the written works be? Is there a limit?

Yes, the written works have no maximum limit but a minimum of 150 pages excluding the table of contents, bibliography, acknowledgements, and annexes.

  • Can I participate in the competition even though my thesis has been published, if I modify/rewrite/translate it?

No you cannot. Pursuant to Article 7 of the Rules, thesis submitted shall be unpublished.

  • What documents should I send to participate in the Institute Prize?

Pursuant to Article 7 of the Rules, participants shall send a pdf version of their work, in addition to the paper version required. Remember to leave out your name and any personal information from these pdf and paper version. (You should also consider erasing your thanks at the beginning/end of your work; they might refer to professors or other people whose names might give graders indications on your identity). Also, you have to send a separate letter.

  • What information should appear on the separate letter coming along with my application?

Participants shall send a separate letter mentioning their name, date of birth, nationality, full address and any other information deemed necessary.

  • What legal field should my work be on?

Pursuant to Article 1 of the Rules, the Prize is designed to award excellent legal research and writing in the field of international commercial law, including arbitration.

  • Is there a deadline for submission of my work?

Works shall be sent to the Secretariat of the ICC Institute no later than 1 April of the year of the competition (works must be postmarked by 1 April of that year).

  • Are co-written works accepted?
No they are not accepted.
  • Where should I send my written work?
