2013 Categories

Each Competition incorporates new categories to provide chambers with the chance to share their development of unique and novel ideas with their peers around the world.

The categories for the 2013 Competition are:

Best Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Project

Applicants in this category will have developed a project addressing business and their social responsibility actions in community, environment, workplace and marketplace activities. Such project can include public-private partnerships, and must underline the business advantages for CSR and ethical business practices as well as reinforce the chamber’s mission of promoting best practices in industry.

Best International Project

Applicants will have developed an exceptional project of international scope. Projects focusing on a chamber’s capacity in providing international trade support services to its members covering import and export initiatives, trade and foreign investment opportunities (inbound and outbound), all designed to strengthen their region’s economy and job creation will be eligible.

Best Small Business Project

Applicants will have developed an exceptional small business support project that has fostered local economic development, created jobs and opened up new business opportunities for the chamber’s member companies. Any project that supports economic development of small businesses while increasing their dynamism and reach will be considered.

Best Unconventional Project

Applicants will have developed an exceptional project in an activity not typically associated with a chamber of commerce. The project must be inspirational and innovative, while demonstrating that it fulfilled specific needs and objectives of the chamber, its SME member community, in creating jobs and strengthening their local economies.

Best Youth Entrepreneurship Project

Applicants will have developed an exceptional project that has showcased the creativity and importance of youth entrepreneurship and job creation. This project shall include chamber’s support programmes and services designed to help young entrepreneurs get started, or expand their business activities. These young entrepreneurs initiatives demonstrate innovative and new directions for the chamber in fostering entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial management.
