More than 70 projects from 33 countries submitted nominations to the 2006 World Business Awards in support of the Millennium Developments Goals. The nominations were assessed by an international selection panel drawn from business, labour, research and academic organizations, environmental groups and the United Nations.
The panel, chaired by Mary Robinson, former President of Ireland and current Chair of The Ethical Globalization initiative, was very impressed by the overall high quality of the projects submitted.
