The World Chambers Federation (WCF) was established by ICC in 1951 to be the advocate of its chamber of commerce members worldwide.WCF is a non-political, non-governmental body representing the interests of all local, national, regional, bilateral and transnational chambers of commerce and industry. ICC Chairman speaks at Eurochambres Congress
Yong Sung Park, Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce, said yesterday that the organization is "extremely concerned" that the Doha trade negotiations are now in "serious trouble". He called on ICC national committees and chambers of commerce around the world to keep up pressure on governments to achieve the aims of the Doha Round in agriculture, services and trade facilitation. He emphasized that, notwithstanding the problems, ICC remains optimistic. "There is," he reminded his audience, "a tactical approach by many negotiators to wait until the last minute to give concessions." |

Chile to join ATA Carnet system
Chile is to accept ATA Carnets, an International Chamber of Commerce facility for the temporary duty-free admission of goods, from 1 October this year, thereby becoming the first Latin American country to join the Carnet system. |

ICC launches business reconstruction fund following disaster in South Asia
The tsunami that struck South Asia in the early morning of 26 December has brought much pain and anguish to those already affected by economic distress in the region. The huge loss of life and the devastation of large areas of coastland have caused deep shock and sadness at ICC. We would all like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the relatives and friends of those who have perished and our profound sympathies to those who have suffered injury or severe economic loss. |
