The Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI), a key regional ICC partner, announces it is now receiving applications for its second Local Chambers Award, recognizing outstanding achievement by a chamber in promoting social, commercial and industrial well-being in the community.
This year, CACCI will give two awards, one for Chambers with 200 or more members and one for those with less than 200. The recipients will be announced during the 40th anniversary celebration of CACCI at their conference 31 October to 2 November in Taipei. World Chambers Federation, ICC's specialized division for chamber affairs, will be one of the judges for this event. Recipients will receive US$2,000 and a trophy, while short-listed candidates get a traveling allowance of US$500 to attend the ceremony. The deadline to receive applications is 15 June.
During the conference, CACCI will also launch the Asia-Pacific Young Entrepreneur Awards, recognizing successful businesses which also advocate corporate social responsibility locally and nationally.
CACCI primary members will submit nominations for these awards. Candidates must demonstrate leadership, integrity, business acumen and involvement in a not-for-profit organization or association. Finalists will be asked to travel to Taipei where the awards will be made at a gala during a CACCI conference 1 November.
CACCI primary members play a leading role in ICC's national committees in the Asia-Pacific region. For further information on the awards programs, contact a CACCI primary member by searching under the country listings at the CACCI website,
