WCF administers the ATA Carnet System and its international guarantee chain, according to the conventions on temporary admission of goods, developed by the World Customs Organization (WCO). 

ATA Carnets are extensively used by business in most parts of the world, with approximately
160 000 Carnets issued every year for goods
valued at over US$16 billion.

Currently, 65 countries accept the ATA Carnet for temporary admission of commercial samples, professional equipment and goods for presentation or use at international trade fairs and similar events.

In cooperation with the WCO, ICC national committees and chambers of commerce, WCF is working to extend the ATA Carnet System to more countries and to further integrate it into conventional business practices.
