ICC issues positions on global economic crisis
The global economic crisis does not stem from a failure of the market economy system nor does it call into question the system’s successful record in creating wealth and significantly raising global living standards, ICC said in a position paper on the current emergency. This statement will be useful to ICC’s chamber of commerce and business association members and may assist you in your communications with governments, business and the media.

Women Business Associations in South Asia More
CIPE marked the occasion of International Women’s Day with the release of Women’s Business Associations: South Asia. As CIPE works to support stakeholders in democratic and marketoriented reform, engaging women becomes crucial, as they are too often left out in a process that should be, by definition, inclusive. While women comprise more than half the world's population, only in Japan and Peru are they more active than men in starting a business. Women around the world are still denied property rights and access to capital. Yet, study after study has shown that women in the developing world are often better financial managers for small business. By making women's participation in the economy and policymaking a priority, developing countries raise their potential for sustained growth and stability. This release is the first in a series detailing the status of women's business associations across emerging markets.

Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency More
Founded in 1988 and member of the World Bank Group, MIGA's mission is to promote foreign direct investment (FDI) into developing countries to help support economic growth, reduce poverty, and improve people's lives. MIGA addresses these concerns by providing three key services: - Political risk insurance for foreign investments in developing countries - Technical assistance to improve investment climates and promote investment opportunities in developing countries - Dispute mediation services, to remove possible obstacles to future investment The permanent delegation of the CPCCAF received on January 2009 Mr Bertrand Marchais, who has been appointed by the World Bank to create an MIGA office in Paris, France. Mr Marchais would like the whole CPCCAF network to be informed about the creation of this MIGA office in Paris, in order to seize the agency of transnational investment projects from African countries. CPCCAF could help them to benefit from the MIGA services.
