WCF Vice Chair 2001 - 2005

Mr Park served as WCF Vice Chair from 2001 - 2005, and as ICC's Chairman 2005 - 2006.

A firm believer in the value of chambers of commerce, Mr Park was elected to the ICC Board of Directors in January 1998 and has worked toward promoting and expanding chamber activities throughout the world. As former Chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), he hosted the second World Congress of ICC's World Chambers Federation in Seoul in June 2001. He has been a member of the ICC Executive Board since 1998 and served the chairmanship of ICC Korea from 1996 until April 2003. Mr Park is former Chairman of Korea's Doosan Group.

Also active in the world of international sport, Mr Park is President of the International Judo Federation. In addition, he has served as a member of the International Olympic Committee since 2002, where he serves on the highly influential Marketing Commission.

The IOC awarded Mr Park the IOC Sports Ethics Award in 1998 for his extraordinary service to the international sports community. In 2000, he was awarded the title of the Commander by the Order of Leopold II Award of the Crown from His Majesty Albert II of Belgium. In June 2003, Mr Park was also awarded the prestigious Legion d'Honneur by the government of France for his contributions to the sports community and for maintaining an outstanding relationship with France.

Born in 1940, Mr Park graduated from Seoul National University's College of Commerce in 1965. After completing his MBA program at New York University's Leonard N. Stern School of Business, he quickly advanced through the ranks of the Doosan Group, becoming Vice Chairman in 1993.
