7 March 1998 - The
International Maritime Bureau(IMB) has a new and improved presence on the ICC
website. The first of the three Commercial Crime Services bureaus to go into
operation, IMB serves banks, insurance companies, shipping companies, charterers
and traders around the world.
IMB
was recognized by a special resolution of the United Nations International Maritime
Organisation(IMO) in October 1981, which called upon all member governments
of the IMO to assist the IMB in its task. Now, with its multilingual,
multidisciplinary staff and its network of contacts around the world IMB is
in a unique position to gather information and to respond swiftly when problems
arise.
In addition to an overview of IMB objectives and
